Bremmers et al. (2022) use the concept of caregiving burden distinctively by assessing subjective and objective burden concepts when providing care to adults with mental disorders.

Strengths of the Research Limitations of the Research Relevancy to Topic of Interest Notes
Bremmers et al. (2022) engaged renowned scholarly databases like Google Scholar, Medline, Embase, CINAHL Plus, and Cochrane, thus enhancing the research reliability. The questionnaires used in the research were not developed for psychiatric disorders, hence may fail to detect the caregiving impact on adults with mental disorders. The article is relevant to the topic since it will provide an insight into how informal caregivers impact the lives of adults with mental disorders. It is important to evaluate how informal caregivers impact the lives of mental health patients to prevent adverse effects of their conditions, especially when mistreated.
The study’s use of peer-reviewed articles was essential in providing objective information.

There is no report on patients, regulatory providers, and other healthcare practitioners’ direct perspectives.

The article also engaged the Meta-Analysis and Systematic Reviews of preferred reporting items guidelines.

Part Two: Summary

When carrying out research, it is always essential to narrow the topic to be in a position to find the most appropriate research materials (Pollock et al., 2021). Since the research needed to assess how informal caregivers attend to mental health patients, I engaged the use of keywords as my search technique in our school library (Eriksen & Frandsen, 2018). Hence, my keywords were “informal caregivers,” “mental health disorders,” and “adults’ mental health disorders.” The other strategies that are essential when assessing peer-reviewed include formulating a PICO question and then engaging databases like Cochrane and Google Scholar since they provide a variety of peer-reviewed articles. However, it is also easier to find peer-reviewed articles by evaluating the authorship since some authors have already indicated that it was peer-reviewed (Weller-Newton et al., 2021).

It is important to acknowledge that most systematic review journals and articles are peer-reviewed. Hence, I will use databases like PubMed Central and Google scholar in the future. That is because, the database tends to provide full-article, unlike other databases that provide abstract information only, thus making it hard for the nursing researcher to assess the credibility of the sources (Krick et al., 2019). In conclusion, using peer-reviewed articles and journals will always be recommended to maintain research topic objectivity.
